NCE Hosts Virtual School Board Training Workshops for Regions 4 & 5
August 24 & September 1, 2022
The National Council on Education (NCE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Youth will be hosting two one-day training sessions for school board members in Regions 4 (Hanover, St. James & Westmoreland) and 5 (Manchester & St. Elizabeth). The workshops will be held virtually on August 24 and September 1, 2022. The school board members will be sensitised about their roles and responsibilities in governing the public educational institutions placed in their charge. Among the topics to be explored are:
- Governing in Keeping with the Law – Aspects of the Legal and Regulatory Framework Governing School Operations;
- Promoting Positive Ethos;
- Human Resource Management Responsibilities of the Board;
- Fiduciary Responsibilities of Board Members with Special Emphasis on Financial Management.
