Teachers' Day is celebrated in Jamaica on the second Wednesday in the Month of May. The National Council on Education (NCE) applauds all teachers in Jamaica and the rest of the world for their dedication and commitment to the development of our leaners. We appreciate the effective strategies that you continue to employ and the concepts you embrace in nurturing the young minds. We admire the love, respect and encouragement you show in facilitating our learners.  It is well recognised that effective teachers not only show compassion to their learners, but also seek ways to overcome the issues they face in the teaching and learning environment.

On this Teachers’ Day, the NCE takes the opportunity to salute our teachers in all educational institutions in Jamaica and the rest of the world and encourage our teachers to remain undaunted despite the difficulties that they are facing in the classrooms.

The NCE extends its appreciation to all teachers as we work together to create worthwhile citizens.

About Us

The establishment of the NCE was born out of the need to have a non-partisan, national and strategically placed organisation that would "address a wide range of issues impacting the education process".
